Last weekend I went to Shirdi and Shani Shingnapur. Both these
places are good to visit from religious point of view. After, Rishikesh and
Haridwar I think Shirdi is the place which radiates spirituality like no other
place.
We started our trip at around 8.45 am from Pune and reached
Shingnapur at around 1 pm. The connecting road from Pune- Shingnapur-Shirdi is
too good. I love traveling through road route rather than air /train route as
one can better explore the culture/scenic beauty/good food joints…
Shani Shingnapur, as the name suggests is famous for Shani
temple. Another unique feature about this village is that no house in this
village has doors. People used to cover the entrance of their homes through
curtains only.
The whole area of Shingnapur is covered with sugarcane fields
and from place to place you will find the local people using bull to extract
juice from the sugarcane. We stopped at one such place which was covered with
various Neem trees and drank sugarcane juice which was fresh and tasty. I love
village life as it is very simple and free from the hustle-bustle of life.
Moreover people there are very down to earth…

After visiting to Shani temple, we went to Shirdi. We reached
there at around 6 pm. After taking room in one hotel, we reached to Sai temple
at 8.30 pm; spent around 2.5 hours in the queue. But all my tiredness went off
after attending night prayer in the temple campus. The atmosphere over there
was peaceful and serene. In the morning we went to some other places in Shirdi
and left from there at around 3 pm and reached Pune at 8 pm.

We stopped at one
food corner near Pune in between to take some rest. I forget the name of the
place (I am too bad in remembering names of people/places) but the food there
was too delicious and more over the place is beautiful with a nice garden and a
small pond where some ducks and birds were reared by the owner…
I believe that
taking regular breaks are required from the mundane chores of daily life. A
break to pause, to contemplate and enjoy...... A break to seek some inner
tranquility and rejuvenation…....
I have already
chosen my next travel destinations which are Bedsa Cave-Khandala- Lonavala most probably next month
- my next break from work :-) :-)
